Dakota Retail used Remote Desktop Services (RDS), one of the core virtualization technologies available in Windows Server 2008 R2, to “terminal” into the inventory server and other services. Dakota Retail met the installation deadline, taking about two months to deliver the complete system, which included 19 Breeze All-In-One POS devices running Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 and seven handheld POS terminals running Windows Embedded CE.”
